I’ve racked my brain up and down for solutions and have come up short for every solution I’ve tried. So to try to keep this short, I’m 28, I have a cert that doesn’t make me a lot, I’m still is school almost done with an associate in bio moving towards a bachelor. I live with a partner and have to pay rent and contribute, I have a ton of debt from over the years.

I make $15/hr full time M-F. Rent is $500. My credit card debt is $170/mo, my car loan is $150, car insurance $200, internet like $70. I have a payment plan for school that’s two payments of about $200 for two classes two times a semester. Bills alone aside from rent run me about $500/mo. My savings are hovering at $1000 and wont budge, every month I’ve put in $100 only to find out Im paycheck to paycheck.

It’s come to my attention that once my associates is done, all the bachelors classes at the local university are not evenings, very few if any online. So with my current job I’m screwed.

So every avenue I thought of:

*After my associates, either quit my job and find a new full time one with flexible evening hours and/or weekends so I can find time to take weekday morning classes. Or…if my job will allow the flexibility to take those classes and lose those midday hours and/or work weekends (old boss was strict against this so might still have to leave

*get a part time job and do classes full time. Problem is part time isn’t even going to land me $500/mo at $12 minimum wage here. Even if I did ask my partner to let me off of rent. Even if I could find out how to pay for classes (I pay them out of pocket). I’d also lose my health insurance from work.

*stop driving. Sell my car and forgo the insurance and car loan payments. That’ll buy me $360/month with the caveat I take an extra hour to bus to and from work and classes. I’d have to get a job closer to bus route and school route. The weather has also been miserable.

*give up on paying my credit card debt. So what? I cant buy a house anymore? Or a car? I can keep paying my car off and own that one. But the extra almost $200 a month is going to help me more than some stupid ass score. Once I get a degreed job that makes tons of money I can switch to saving money.

I’ve also tried scholarships, food stamps, school programs, debt consolidation (estimates run me higher than what I pay now), applying for higher paying jobs so far (I’m going back to it soon if I dont get any career advancement in this one I like)

I’m approaching 30 and feeling sad and frustrated with the lack of hard work paying off.
