Well aware reddit is a horrible place to go for advice. This is less me seeking advice and more wanting to understand what everyone else is up to. Does curiosity kill the cat? Who knows.
My one is currently about 40% of my budget. Yes I know, this is pretty damn high, but it's done to take maximum advantage of fees, and my goal of reaching a 100,000usd portfolio. I'm a big fan of Berkshire and their philosophies, and as much as theres a lot I disagree on, I support the fact that 100,000usd is crucial to reach as soon as possible in a sustainable way.
My guideline split is 67%-33% VOO to company selections. I currently have 9 companies, but I am planning to drop that to 7 very soon because I have lost confidence in 2 over the past year. At no point do I feel confident holding more than 10, so I tend to stick to under 10. This means those 10 companies are ones I have confidence in, and it also simplifies research, news, analysing reports and qtr results etc.
My fees are sitting at 0.2%/year with 0.5% in conversion fees but I'm considering transferring my shares to a new broker who could suit my needs better at potentially lower fees.
