I am a Canadian university student that wants to be independent and move out financially secure. I’ve been thinking of moving out since high school, but unfortunately I am not financially literate.

I am privileged to live with my parents, who also pays for my tuition fee. This is due to cultural reasons rather than parental reasons. We are not close by any way (please do not suggest talking to them about this issue, I have already tried).

I work but I do not know how to do taxes (I don’t even fully know what it is), I don’t know what credit is and what it is used for, I don’t even know how to invest; I pretty much don’t know anything. I try to learn on google but it never connects in my head. Because I don’t have a set list of terms to learn, I miss a lot of terminologies. This leaves holes in my understanding and I feel discouraged to continue, or the knowledge I just built crumbles down and I misunderstand things.

I would love to get any resources that could help me be financially literate. I know I am stupid for this, but I hope to learn from this, thx.
