Looking at places to rent right now and by all accounts this landlord seems pretty amazing, kind, and experienced. But we got a copy of the lease that states that the maintenance of the property is the sole responsibility of the tenants - from HVAC to plumbing to landscaping. Is this standard, or a red flag? Kind of taken aback because even past tenants have said this landlord is great, but I’ve always thought of maintenance to be the landlord’s responsibility?
