The world population is expected to increase by nearly two billion people in the next 30 years; energy consumption is already at levels not experienced before and we are in the middle of the long transition phase from fossil fuels to electric motors which will take decades to complete. Looking at energy stocks, we can see the solar and wind sectors facing a (temporary?) downturn; on the other side, OPEC efforts to keep WTI and Brent in the $80 range with their announced cuts are failing due to Russia smuggling oil to just about everywhere at discount price. So we are in the middle of Q2 2023 with the whole energy sector heavily impacted by rumours of possible recession and wobbly banking systems. Wondering for how long should we wait to buy.
