Maybe not the right sub to post, but maybe close enough. We recently received notice of our property appraisal which is up almost 100% in the past 5 years. There is notice that we can file a protest. My question is, is there anything we can actually say regarding the protest? Presumably all properties in our area have been appraised similarly, so is there anything we can claim in protest? Or would it just be a waste of time?
Can the government really just double our tax burden over 5 years? It’s not like the house has doubled in size and our wages haven’t changed at all. We’re just getting squeezed. Any help would be appreciated.
