I (21f) never got adopted in Dallas. I go to University full time now and am 100% independent. I get a lot of grants and loans through school, but it really just covers school. I still need to makeup rent, car insurance, phone, etc.

My Medicaid got extended because of Covid hitting when I was 18 and it really saved me, but I got a call informing me my coverage will end in November.

I already struggle hard and have no fallback, paying $200 for health insurance is absolutely unfathomable to me right now, I can barely make due as it is.

I have mental health issues as does every foster kid and take 3 medications accompanied with seeing a psychiatrist every month. I really just need these visits and meds covered.

Texas doesn’t offer Medicaid to people 19-64 unless you’re a single mom or are under disability AND only making like 16k a year.

I make like 7k annually aside from my school grants/loans.

Are there any low-cost options? What do I do?
