I just got a new job that paid me way more than my previous job this week
They paid me a relatively large check to deposit into my account for my first week of training and to buy the materials I needed for the job.
It went through, and within hours I got an email that my account was restricted, and I should call.
I tried calling multiple times, but it would only cut to a voice message due to my number being associated with that account.
I went to a "branch" today, and they literally kept me outside because they don't deal with checking accounts??? and it was cold, wet, and raining.
Now there is money there that I'm supposed to use that technically is mine but meant for something, and I can't get access to it.
Lemme not lie; I am panicking. Im barely an adult, and that is my main account and the only one with money inside
Edit: So I've been scammed. I honestly never thought I would be, especially like this.
So, I am going to call my bank with a different phone number, and hopefully, they should reverse it soon, and my account won't be flagged (I do have another checking account tho)
I am actually really sad because I have been looking for a better job for so long, but that's life.
I actually never thought I would thank Reddit for advice and for saving me from what could have been a much worse situation.
With the amount of views this post has been getting i may also take it down soon because it's making me really anxious
I do have to tell my mum what happened tho, which is going to be embarrassing
