Something I started doing that you guys may like.
A local grocer near me has bone-in chicken thighs for 88 cents a pound. I bought about 8lbs and threw them all in the Crock-Pot (no seasonings, but if you want some go to town). After 8-9 hours I took them out, shredded them, portioned them into baggies and into the freezer they went.
Now when I want, I can grab a baggie and have a cheap protein for soups, tacos, sandwiches, stir-frys, salads, chicken salad etc. And you can easily rinse and reuse the baggies for the next chicken batch. I know not everyone can find the thighs for 88 cents a pound, but snag a sale on those or breasts and you're in business.
