So my brother is moving to another state abruptly for a new job. He currently has 10 months left on his current lease and stuck on best option moving forward.

  1. He can pay a $5,000 fee to break lease and move on to apartment

  2. He has a coworker that is willing to live in apartment and pay $300 less then rent amount (brother will cover the rest of amount) and brother will also cover utilities and apartment will stay in brother's name.

My brother likes option #2 but I say option #1. Mainly because of liability issues since apartment will still be in his name. Another big thing for him is that he won't need to move all the furniture and it can stay there and live with the new coworker and that saves with storage in moving. Just to give you a little backstory. Please let me know because I think its a very interesting scenario.
