How did Hindenburg short Adani stock? Adani companies are only listed in India and India does not allow companies to be shorted.

Anyone know the mechanics of how Hindenburg achieved this. An article alluded to shorting derivatives in foreign markets but no details were given. And Hindenburg is obviously being secretive - given they caused the Adani group to lose 100 billion in a matter of weeks.
