Greetings all - I have this taunting question that’s been on my mind lately… I always hear on the news that x company has received x amount of money in investment from Goldman Sachs, Sequoia (or any top investment firm).
I’ve always been curious about these companies approach these top investment firms? Is it all about networking or they just cold outreach to these firms and when an intern receives the email he/she forward it directly to the managing partner?
I’m dying to know how Wework was able to sit down in the same room as Son’s SoftBank and secure $1 billion in investment, or how Ozy media was able to squeeze a $40+ millions investment out of Goldman Sachs with little to nothing to show for it.
I’m just trying to understand which route these companies take to make the approach, or if there’s like a secret passageway or portal behind an office building that’ll lead you straight to the key person’s radar.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
