Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the backdoor Roth IRA is sill viable in 2022. The Build Back Better Act, which would have eliminated Backdoor Roth IRA, passed the House but it never got the support it needed to pass in the Senate. With Democrats gaining more seats in the Senate, is this something they could revisit and retroactively apply for the 2022 tax year? When is the deadline for when congress can change the laws for the tax year?
Thanks!
