Hi all
Company is selling shares as part of the year end compensation package at a $35/share. They offer us X amount of shares based on performance and experience and you must use your own capital to buy them.
My understanding is three fold:
-
you receive compensation at the end of each year for how many shares you hold. Eg if it’s 4% of value of share, then if you have $10k worth of shares you get $400 extra that year
-
the idea is that value of shares go up with company growth over time. And once you leave/retire you can cash out. Ideally at an amount greater than what you purchased.
-
after you’ve accumulated X amount of shares (maybe 100k-150k worth) you earn a special position with various perks (monthly allowance, company vehicle etc).
Shares are also private and can only be held by employees.
I personally fail to see any perks or benefits outside of wanting to be apart of the ownership group or until you make large investments (100k+). Am I missing something? Anyone apart of similar compensation packages ?
