I'm a new mum with a husband who refuses to address his high blood pressure issues. Whenever he goes to the doctor for something else, his doctors freak out and give him EKGs and generally are concerned that he's in danger for a stroke or heart attack but he won't change his diet. He doesn't want to be "stuck taking pills for the rest of his life". Literally everything he eats is carbs, fats, high in cholesterol, sugary or just unhealthy. He can finish a large bag of candy in a day with ease. I've given up trying to convince him to change his diet but I'm also concerned that we'd either be left bankrupt if he were to be left invalid from the effects of a stroke or left without 50% of the income we need to raise our daughter if he got a fatal heart attack. I'm considering taking out life insurance to protect my daughter's financial future in case the worst happens... but I have no idea what kind to get. I'd probably get one for myself too just for good measure. Please advise?
