I make about 130K a year
I live in Boston and will have a car in the near future
| Category | Amount |
|---|---|
| Gas & Fuel | $200 |
| Car payment | $436 |
| Public Transportation | $80 |
| Ride Share | $60 |
| Internet | $40 |
| Utilities | $86 |
| Entertainment | $120 |
| Coffee/Tea | $20 |
| Groceries | $200 |
| Restaurants | $400 |
| Reoccurring Dental | $135 |
| Therapy | $300 |
| Gym | $65 |
| Rent | $900 |
| Physical Therapy | $200 |
| Shopping (Any items/objects that are not consumables) | $300 |
| Random Expenses | $200 |
| Total | $3,742 |
The rest of the money thats unaccounted for above gets put into 401k and a slowly accumulating safety net savings account (I put 400 a month into the savings account).
My insurance is paid once every 6 months and is around 900.
I have a pretty bad sense of what I'm spending too much on and what I'm not spending enough on. Whats bothering me a lot is that this budget is about half of my monthly take home after taxes. I would like any suggestions on cutting back or where I should be adding/forgot.
And finally is this a healthy financial budget? I used to pinch pennies after graduating college but I realized I wasnt really living because I would always pick the frugal option (usually not dining out/going out/experiencing things). To be clear I do not want to FIRE. I want to accrue money and have a healthy budget.
