My employer (HQ in CA, I'm employed in CO) allegedly overpaid me during our switch from twice-a-month paychecks to every two weeks (changing pay period to getting paid in arrears as well with a 5 day lag) and now is asking us to sign a form acknowledging and accepting that they will underpay me said amount over the course of several future paychecks in order to recoup the amount. I know CA and NY have pretty stringent laws around docking paychecks, but as I'm CO based is there anything I should be aware of or ensure I check regarding this issue besides personally checking all of their math? If their math is correct I know they have rights to recoup the funds, however I want to make sure I'm covering all my bases and not missing anything.
