I am 18F and I recently got a letter from the IRS two weeks ago saying someone has filed for taxes in 2021 for 6k. I immediately call the IRS and confirm fraud and they said we should take bigger precautions to protect my information. A week rolls around and I froze my credit. My parents urge me to physically go to a local social security administration to show my documents that I am legit the person they are claiming fraud for 6k.
I started my job this week so the hours to go to the SS office is difficult and so this week I was planning to book an appointment. On the first day at 10:00 PM I wake up from a nap and get a call from a no caller ID. I pick up, and I go "hello?" they have a female voice, oddly cheery and they go "I can't hear yoooou". I turn off speaker and talk normally and they go, "hey, you're really cute. Saw you on Tinder and just wanted to know your information." and I go, "awe, I'm flattered. I have a boyfriend though, I'm sorry." and they start asking his name, and I am confused. Out of nowhere, they go "I know something you dooooon't." I'm confused, and I go "what?" and they go "I know your social security number." and I'm confused, and I'm like how? and they go "on Tinder, silly!"
but the thing is I haven't used Tinder at ALL since I was locked out for my age for the past few months and they go "Whatever." and hang up. I can't click their caller ID, I can't call back. What do I do?
