I've never invested, and it shows in this question.
Right, SSE Airtricity is about £1.80 per share. if I buy 1000 shares, that costs me £1800. Dividend is what they pay twice a year, so 29p and 66p per share in March and Sept. Call it a quid per year per share.
So for an investment of £1800, I'm getting back £1000 per year in dividends?? Am I missing something???
