Today, I made a Sams Club run. I actually stuck to my list, which I don’t always manage. There are some thing we get there that are significantly cheaper than anywhere else. The specific dog food my Dixon wants. Large, economy bags of flour (I do NOT buy breads. I BAKE breads. Rolls. Tortillas. Pitas. Etc.). Allergy meds. And some freezer foods.
And I grabbed 5 rotisserie chickens while I was there.
When I got home, I deboned the chickens, and use my vacuum- sealer to store half a chicken at a time. And put 8 bags of chicken in the freezer. Already cooked and ready to do. I heat them by dropping one of the vacuum-sealed bags into boiling water to get it good and hot.
Half a chicken will be two meals for each of us ( just me and the hubs these days). So 4 meals per chicken, times 5 chickens - equals lots of quick and easy meals in the freezer!
