So long story short, I made a 9k transfer from one savings account to another with a higher interest rate. A few days later I realized they made the transfer twice. I thought it would be caught and returned so I did nothing, but it’s been almost 6 months and the money is still there and I haven’t received any communication about it.

Should I just leave it be? Of course I won’t spend it but I don’t feel too ethically conflicted considering banks screw people over left and right and the mistake wasn’t my fault.

Edit: So it seems the consensus is that I should let the bank know and send the money back.

I’m not going to that as me and my husband find it very amusing that the bank hasn’t caught this yet and are kind of invested in seeing how this turns out without any intervention. Will make an update in a year or whenever/if ever they do end up catching the mistake!
