My first ever card was the Amazon store card offered by Synchrony close to a decade ago. I've never had a problem with these guys till today. Out of the blue all 3 accounts were closed. All 3 had zero balances and I have a 750 credit score (recently took a small hit paying off 2 vehicles 2 years earlier than expected).
When I call to ask them why, they said there was an insufficient balance charge for $22 on a completely different account. I've never had an insufficient balance and my cards are paid off in full multiple times a month. My bank account could pay the balance off for every card I have for a couple years at least. I just don't understand why they did this.
I'm a little worried about the hit my credit will take losing all of these accounts at once as my wife and I are looking into buying our first house just now, after so many years of working, the whole situation kind of makes me sick....
The cherry on top is I had hundreds of dollars of unused rewards I never got to use, they just took it and closed my account. Just a really dirty move from these guys.
