I'm in central FL. Looking at buying my first house. I know that I for sure can't afford anything in my current town. So I'm looking to move within 30-45 minutes and places are 200-225k. Even then these places are kind of crappy... so now I'm starting to look 45-60 minutes out from my current residence. Property in those areas are 150-175k and although a bit smaller (2 bed/2 bath or 2 bed/1 bath instead of 3 bed/2 bath) they are turn-key with no serious repairs needed. I'm self-employed. I gross 80-85k a year, net 50-60k after taxes and expenses.
