I know this is r/Frugal so there is probably more than just me. But some people are also too careful when it comes to food even frugal ones.

These discounted items are usually about to expire the following day, but with my long experience, the expiration dates marked are really generously early and I haven't had any issues. If it's meat I just keep it frozen. Some bread in the fridge. The only food exception that's really hard to extend are vegetable, fruits, and some dairy products.

Whenever I go to my local store, these items are ignored but I chase them and seems like I'm the only one looking for it (it has a dedicated cart/shelf in my local store). Other than it saves me money, I just cannot stomach the fact that these food items will go to the bin at the end of the day while they are still perfectly fine to consume.
