Advise please - my ex did a great job destroying our finances. Without going into much detail, he was ordered to pay the bulk of the joint debt we had in the divorce decree. What I was ordered to pay has been taken care of - he has refused to deal with his end. (I know creditors don't give af who was ordered to pay, they will go after whoever they can) The legal advise I have gotten (due to my particular circumstances) is to file bankruptcy - which I haven't done yet, but that is on the front burner. So there is debt in just my ex's name, and joint debt remaining.
Meanwhile, my (our) oldest son has turned 18. He's off to college, & let me know a couple months after his bday that one local collection agency began bombing him with phone calls. I told him what it was about & said to block the number. Just got a text from him that this company is still calling him regularly.
Is there an action I can take to stop them from calling my son?
