TL;DR – Need to raise up washer/dryer to avoid back issues. Without spending $$$.
I am fortunate enough to be getting a high efficiency front loading washer, as well as a dryer. 🎉
I'm the primary laundry doer in my home (by choice – no one else does it "right" 😆), but as I've had low back issues we were looking at pedestals to avoid having to bend over to take clothes in and out of the machines.
I'm in the US, for reference.
When we saw the prices of pedestals I about died. We looked at alternatives like heavy duty platforms, but those were in the hundreds each as well. I would rather do squats and work on my quads that spend that much (or actually put it on a credit card, because that's what it would have to be).
I can't be sure until we're actually in there in mid-January, but I don't think the tiny laundry closet will accommodate squatting. So realistically I will be bending if we can't come up with a better solution.
