So there's a few things to consider.
- This plan prevents me seeking coverage on marketplace for me and children, as well as income based insurance programs.
-
I fear he looks at it as a $1000 raise, and not the cost of doing business. Like you can't say "well my rent went up $500, so your raise is me being able to keep the shop open." This is my biggest concern.
-
This plan will actually cost me less in the long run, they have been good employers, but with all things considered I would not be comfortable taking this as my yearly "raise" (which should be coming up in December, was expecting 5-6%.)
-
My income is squarely in the middle for my profession, I could seek more elsewhere but quality of life is much better here than elsewhere(this is a rotating on call job, with 50-hour regular weeks and I get paid for OT.) I could realistically earn another $8-$10k per year elsewhere with insurance included, but my QOL will suffer greatly.

Our company has met or exceeded our sales goals 11 out of 12 past months, and far exceeded goals at least 3 times(doubled sales goal twice, 150% of goal once.) These determine our bonuses, and are going up significantly next year. This is a growing company. I can definitely use this to my advantage, as my time with the company directly aligns with these increases.

I have been a star performer, cover every chance I get, have many positive reviews and can really maximize our profits on jobs. I have been told i am one of our best in customer interaction, paperwork and documentation.
Anyone have advice or suggestions how I should go about having this conversation? While I understand they are on the hook for more, this is a cost of doing business and directly from how successful they have been. What are salient points to make for why I should also get a raise?
TLDR: Job is a successful and growing company which is now offering insurance. GM believes this counts as a $1000 raise per month for each employee. How do I convince him that I still should get a raise? Have great reviews and well liked by superiors. But not comfortable with insurance being my only raise for the year.
