Howdy.
As stated in the title, I submitted a FAFSA application for the 2021-2022 school year as I am going to be taking classes this Spring. Checked my status from my school's website, and it stated that the EFC would be $6,000, thus preventing me from receiving anything from a Pell Grant. My wife and I have been married since 2019 and together made less than $30k that year. I have no idea where they expect that $6,000 to appear from.
Would any of you guys know why it would say that? I went and talked to the financial aid office at my school and the advisor told me that I probably just made too much over what the poverty level is, hence why I didn't receive anything. To me that sounds like BS because $29,700 seems like quite a low amount of income for two people, but then again I can't say for sure.
