Due to a record breaking year, my company is giving me an end of year bonus worth 75% of my annual salary, but only a 1% raise to to annual salary.

What is the proper way to ask for a raise instead of bonus? My annual salary is $50k and I'm getting a $35k eoy bonus.

But thinking long term, I would much rather get a raise instead of a bonus. Especially because peak Covid was the benefactor to my companies success, meaning bonuses like this will only be temporary, whereas a raise is solidified.

I just haven't the slightest clue of how to approach management without sounding like an ingrate.
