Its Christmas time. Last year we had covid in full force, yet there was optimism and light. Decorated houses, decorated markets etc., But this time, in the San Francisco bay area everything feels like Februrary, when the holiday is over and everybody is still in the post holiday blues phase.

Houses are not decorated. No large displays of reindeers in communities. Saturday night restaurants are not packed the way they were in early November.

Shopping stores are empty. 5 people in a Macy's at 8:30pm on a Saturday. Looks like a looming depression is in the air, and we are going to have a big big crash. i could be wrong though, but this christmas feels unlike any I have seen in the last decade in USA.
