I'm a salesperson and people set up appointments for her to go to their homes to see if my company's products would be a good fit for the homeowner. I operate in Los Angeles/Glendale/Burbank area.
A few weeks ago I went to a house call for this 80 year old gentleman who lives alone and doesn't have any family. He owns his property that has a main house and a granny flat in the back. He lives in the granny flat and rents out the front house for $2000 a month. His only other income that he's told me about is $1400 a month social security.
He needs dental work that he was quoted ~$40k for, and the medi-(caid?cal?care?) Won't cover it. Being older he has cognitive decline and has a hard time keeping things organized, as well as not being familiar with the internet and other forms of technology.
What resources can I point him to/help him get signed up for to help with his dental work as well as make things easier for him? I know he's not my responsibility but if I ended up in the same position, I'd like to think someone would take time to help me out.
I'm planning on seeing if he qualifies for SNAP food stamps, but don't really have any idea what else to look into. Any help would be appreciated.
