5 unauthorized Vanguard accounts were opened under my name and SS. After calling them, I followed their direction and sent an email. I received generic response that they were reviewing the info. I heard nothing for two weeks so I called them. The representative said they had a policy change that they will close fraudulent accounts and will have no further communication not even to confirm the fraudulent accounts have been closed. I asked if I could receive a confirmation via email or regular mail that the accounts has been closed the agent said no they couldn’t do that. The agent also said neither they or their supervisors had the ability to contact the fraud department. This sounds crazy. Is this normal? Who do I complain to?
