A friend is selling their mid 2000s Civic with a manuel and reasonable miles for a fair price currently, and this got me thinking about offloading one of our two cars and buying the Civic for $3-4k to replace it. I'd most likely get a PPI at an independent mechanic before purchase too.

Our car in question is a 2018 Elantra Sport DCT with 46k miles that we paid $19k OTD for almost 3 years ago, and Carvana gave me a $19k quote yesterday and CarMax gave us $21k quote. Wtf? We are also planning on moving across the pond to Scandinavia in less than a year and would prefer to bring our 2006 LS430 over because how amazing that car is instead of the Hyundai, and proceeds from Hyundai will help with a house down-payment before we move.

Does this seem like a pretty reasonable plan? As much fun as the ES is, I really miss driving a manual and while there may be some maintenance required on the Civic and we could also use the extra cash in the bank for securing a house.
