I have read about decay and the risks involved. My question still arises when I look at the long term graphs of TECL the returns are astronomical the past 4-5 years since I started investing. TECL has never hit 0, it rebounds from every dip. Obviously there are splits or reverse splits to keep the the price manageable.
My question is: is it true that over the past 4 years TECL would really return like 500 percent (roughly) without hitting 0?
The cons of owning 3x ETF is that when it tanks, you lose everything right? Well this thing dips and then skyrockets. I'm calculating that if I had left my investment in over the past 4 years I'd be up about 500 percent. Instead I'm down overall like 20 percent because I have panic sold a few times. What if i just go all in TECL and let it ride long term like 3 years?
