My wife and I are trying to decide on a 529 plan for our 6 month old son. I’ve looked at the benefits of several in-state and out of state options and still can’t decide. I struggle with too many options, and need guidance with just maybe a couple of plans to better situate myself.
So far I’ve read the Ohio529 is great if you’re not concerned about the lower contribution limit, but I can’t tell if I should look elsewhere like CA’s own plans, as I’ve also read that if a state offers tax benefit to residents, it’s generally the better plan. I’m unsure off the top of my head if there are any tax benefits for CA.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
