I work a 40 hour week; I don’t really feel burned out by the time the weekend comes. I could get a second job at a movie theater by my house and just work Saturday’s. That still leaves me with one free day on Sunday.
Do you think it’s worth it or would it burn me out? I don’t do much on the weekend so I feel like I could be using my Saturdays more productively, working at a movie theater sounds pretty fun to me and extra cash would be nice.
A little bit about me:
22 years old, never went to college, no debt of any kind. I live with my parents currently and I don’t own a car (work from home permanently.)
Bi-weekly pay after taxes: $1714.38 Bi-weekly pay after taxes and contributing 15% into 401k: $1397.07
Bi-weekly take home pay is: $1397.07 Savings/Investments: Little over 19k
I invest $1200 every two weeks into the market. Left with $197.07 every two weeks. This is my “fun” money (eating out, getting clothes, buying a video game, buying something from Amazon lol)
Expenses: Rent: $0 (Parents don’t want to charge me rent, they want me to continue saving as much as possible) All other expenses like phone, food, etc: Taken care of by my parents, they are pretty well off and encourage me to save everything.
No expenses.
I study 5 days a week after work for my network certification, this is how I plan to increase my income to around 75k within a year. One more certification after this one (cybersecurity) will hopefully bring me to 100k within 2 years.
Would a second job be worth it? I’m highly motivated and think I can handle it but would like some opinions from others. Thank you for reading!
