Our water heater is dying. It's original to the house we are in (25 years old). We were finding that anywhere between 25%-50% of the cost of the new water heater could be covered by these rebates if you fill out all the paperwork for the rebates and special IRS forms.
Not only that, new water heaters are more efficient than older ones, especially if you insulate the tank and hot water piping. So not only do you get a discounted appliance, you can get a reduction in your energy bills. With the cost of natural gas heating rising especially going into Winter 2021-2022, it basically a no brainer.
