I'm being sold off with part of my company. I'm losing the ability to contribute additional funds to the ESOP, including reinvestment of dividends. Future dividends will be distributed as cash via a check from the financial institution.

Should I just exchange this investment once I lose access to the ESOP? It is ~10% of my portfolio. I wouldn't necessarily mind investing the dividends into my index fund if and only if it would not be considered a taxable distribution and if it is possible.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm at work, so responses may be delayed.
