Between the rental house they arranged, transportation, suit I need to buy or rent, food and supplies this is easily going to set me back $700. This has been a top 5 friend for me for most of my life so skipping their wedding doesn't seem like an option unless I'm prepared to lose that friend. Personally I think people doing destination weddings need to include cost of accommodations for guests in their wedding budget. If you don't have the money for accommodation maybe you can't afford a destination wedding? I don't know. How do people of r/frugal handle social expectations like this?
