Hello, I would appreciate some advice if possible. My roommates and I used to live in a large apartment with 6 people in total. Our apartment was fairly large and one of our roommates had an issue with using a space heater yet our bill never surpassed $150. This year we moved into a smaller apartment with fewer people, yet we were shocked when we received our first electric bill and saw it was over $300. We live in a 1400 square foot apartment, nobody uses space heaters, we keep electronics we don't use unplugged, and the air is kept at a consistent temperature. We have no idea why our bill is over $300 with so few people living here, there is no way we are using enough electricity to double the amount at our last home. We live in California if that has any significance but I am just looking for advice on what to do in this situation. Should I fight against the bill? I'd appreciate any advice I could get.
