This just happened to a former coworker that I'm close with outside of work. She resigned from our company on 10-4, gave her two weeks notice, they walked her out. This morning she calls me because the money in her account is now gone and her bank says that our company withdrew their direct deposit. They gave her no warning about this even though they are supposed to in writing at least 5 days prior, according to state law. What can she do here? The money was from her paycheck that covered the last 2 weeks of September and was direct deposited in to her account on 9-30.
