Howdy /r/personalfinance!

Back in Nov 2019 I booked Alitalia tickets for my parents to visit Europe - on a Capital One credit card. Fast forward to 6mo prior to travel date, flights get cancelled due to COVID shutdown. By this time, I had already cancelled the credit card.

Alitalia sent refund money to CO CC. I never received a check. I called Alitalia, they say money's with CO. I called CO, they said they never saw the money. If they had seen it, they would have sent me a check to my mailing address (which didn't happen).

I'm stuck between the two companies denying having my money. On top of that, Alitalia's shutting down. How can I go about getting my money back? Is there a third-party service that can help me recover the airfare?
