A bit of background. I listed my car for sale over 2 years ago and within a week a dealership in Texas contacts me to make an offer -- I live in LA. I accepted the offer and they handle transporting the car to Texas as well as taking care of the lien on the car with my bank. We sign a bill of sale electronically and that was that.
Fast forward to today. I received a call and it was them asking me to go to the DMV to get a copy of the title to then mail it to them. They explained that the title company they used lost it or it was lost in the mail; apparently they had been using temporary registration since and that the title was still in my name. Again the the sale was finalized April of 2019.
Any input would be appreciated as I keep thinking that this whole situation is a little bit off.
