I have always been a Debit card user. I’m old enough to remember debit fees but young enough to not have had to learn to avoid them. I developed this habit as a way to manage my spending: cash & credit we’re both too easy for me to spend. The ability to see a Debit charge come out of my account (almost) instantly was a huge aid for me in comprehending my spending.

However, as I’ve been on this sub, I’ve realized that this is not advisable. Specifically, considering the amount of data/identity loss issues.

I am at a point in my financial maturity that I feel I am capable of making the switch to daily Credit Card usage. I also use Mint which I think will be helpful in this transition as well.

So I come here to ask those of y’all that are daily Credit Card users: how do you organize your spending? (Ie do you only have 1 CC, do you have separate cards for certain types of spending/stores, how do to consider CC rewards in your choice of CC, etc).

Is there any other specific considerations someone transitioning needs attend to?
