Not sure if this is the perfect spot to post this, but where do people go to search salary data to help then justify a raise at work?
Have my mid-year review with my boss in a few days (our annual review is towards the end of q1 so the mid year is usually towards the middle/end of q3). And want to discuss a raise with him. I've been promoted early a few times in the past few years, and even though I just got promoted back in q1 again, I'm already the 2nd highest performer for my title in the company. Since I've been promoted quickly, I feel like I am towards the bottom end of the pay scale for my position, yet I am one of the top performers. Even outside of pure metrics I am tagged in on alot outside of my normal job description as well.
To add to this I've recently also passed a few industry specific designations which I think add to my market value. Also I'm starting to reach a pivotal marker in my # of years experience which would help more easily qualify me for even higher levels if I decided to hop ship and search the job market. I'd prefer not to do this, I really like where I am and who I work with, and am confident in the direction my company is going, and like the amount of freedom I have, which I may not have if I hop ship.
Typically my raises have come with promotions, but for a few timing reasons I know that won't happen this year.
So I can justify a raise with all of the above it's more just I don't know how much to push for. I would like to have firm numbers to compare myself to, rather than just walking in and saying I want 15%. I also don't want to ask for a ridiculous amount that would just end the conversation, but also know I am worth more than where I am.
