Long story short, I never set up a pin for my phone number, so my phone number got ported out to a different provider today without me knowing. Found out after I got an email saying my backup email was accessed and another message saying I signed up for another service provider, when I didn't, before my phones sims got disconnected.

I changed my passwords for my important accounts, as well my phone numbers to a backup number I had. I also had credit freezes in places beforehand and I'm planning to call the credit bureau when I have another phone again to make sure I can get my phone number changed on my credit reports and minimize whoever took my number from accessing any lines of credit.

I did also talked to customer support from my provider about my issue but they said they can't do anything since the phone number isn't in their system. So I have to try my luck talking to a in person branch to the provider it was transferred to to see if I can get my number back, which I doubt I'll be able to if they got a pin set up already.

Is there anything else I should do? I was thinking of filing an FCC complaint to see if that'll do anything but I don't know if that's something that'll help.

Edit: Porting fraud, not port forwarding
