It's pretty safe buying low prescription glasses online. What about medium - high ? Here are some tips.
1) Pre-condition for everyone : recent prescription with PD number (Papillary Distance) . 2) If you own a frame you are ok with, you can simply replace lenses at a phisical store if you can afford it. 3) Otherwise , find a way to enter a phisical shop, choose a designer frame that fits you perfectly , take note of the model and leave . Then look for frame dimensions online as designer frames have them published online (it is weird to ask all to your shop just to leave as next thing: nose distance, temple lenght ...) . Find a site that let you filter those dimensions in a generic frame before buying. This way you exactly replicate the designer frame. Ex EyeBuyDirect. 4) Choose lens index 1.74 to have them thinnest 5) Choose a frame with a small diagonal lenght to have better quality of the vision because they will be able to build a lens with better focus. This also helps keep lenses thin a lot. You need small frame lenses if your prescription is not low.
