Hey all, just got a great job out in Denver and I am very excited to leave the east coast behind, but I’ve always lived in cities with public transit so I’ve never owned a car. My job is remote so I would only need the car for groceries (maybe?) and weekend trips.

I don’t like driving. I am a biker and will bike the city as much as possible but I do love hiking and skiing so I will be making frequent trips out of the city that require a car. Should I just do short term car rentals for this or is it worth buying a car just for these weekend trips? Any car I would buy would be modest and second hand but would have to survive a Denver winter in the mountains so would need to be durable.

Thanks!
