Hello I work at a fast food restaurant ( Not America) and my manager sabotaged my paid leave. I put in a request for leave which he declined. I put in the request for leave online due to my own personal issues at home. I needed the leave and it was a really bad weekend for me. I used my paid leave hours and he still declined it. I took the time off because I choose to put my personal well-being before serving customers and having another break down.
Here’s some back story: 1. the store is understaffed. 2. The manager often has to fill in when people take leave. 3. The manager does not get paid for bonus hours (I forgot the word). 4. The manager also get a huge bonus at the end of the year for stuff like cutting back costs e.g. extra staff, using expired products. 5. The fast food restaurant I work at has a very toxic work environment. It’s well known throughout the country. 6. I once reported another staff member who bullied me to the area manager (another manager above my manager) and nothing happened.(a separate incident.) 7. The manager in question has fucked up my paid leave requests at least 3 times where I had to 3 weeks to receive the proper pay. 8. I have rent and bills to pay I’m an adult living on my own.
My question is: what should I do?
a) contact my union b) contact head office c) other? (Guys your opinion is appreciated)
I know retribution is going to come from the manager.
