So my daughter has been working for about a year at a fast food place. She has saved nearly everything she has earned. On top of this she also has a savings account that she puts $20 a month in.

Currently she has over $6000. This is great. I am amazed and very proud. But here’s my question. Picked her up from work and she wanted Taco Bell. Should she pay for it? We have plenty of food at home that she could have had. Interestingly my daughter had no issue with paying for it. She has been driving my car and should be putting gas in it and I believe she should be contributing there too.

Main point is that I believe that she needs to start spending her money. That way she will learn the value of her money. Nobody goes thru life without spending some money. But when and how is the question. I know she is still a kid for a few more months and will still need my guidance. I have and always will provide for her. She will get to goto a university for free thru my benefits. But after that she will be largely on her own. Your thoughts?
